Overview
The languages feature lets you translate your calculator into multiple languages so international customers see option labels, descriptions, price summary fields, and system text in their own language. Appify CPO supports up to 10 languages per calculator and includes an AI-powered bulk translation tool. You configure languages in Calculator Editor → Optional Features → Languages.
Steps
Adding a language
- In the Languages section, click Add language.
- Search for or select a language from Shopify's supported locale list.
- The language is added to your enabled languages. System strings (buttons, error messages, etc.) are automatically seeded from Appify CPO's built-in translation bundles when available.
Managing translations
- Each enabled language displays a completeness percentage badge showing how many translatable strings have been translated.
- Click All translations to open the full translation table.
- In the modal, select a language from the dropdown. You see a table with columns for the default text and the translation.
- Use the search bar to find specific strings, or toggle Only show missing to focus on untranslated text.
- Click the translate icon on any row to edit a single translation inline.
Bulk AI translation
- In the All translations modal, select the target language.
- Click AI translate all missing to automatically translate every missing string using AI.
- Optionally check Overwrite existing translations to retranslate strings that already have translations.
- A progress bar shows the translation progress. AI translations consume AI credits.
Removing a language
Click the delete icon next to any non-default language to remove it and delete its translations.
Product Designer — two translation tracks
If your calculator includes a Product Designer, translatable strings fall into two groups in All translations:
| Track |
Key prefix |
What it covers |
Where you set the English default |
| System editor strings |
customizer.system.* |
Built-in editor UI — feature tab names, zoom labels, tool names, layer controls, modals, draw tools, and similar |
Seeded automatically when you add a language |
| Merchant designer strings |
customizer.customizerMode.* / customizer.fileEditMode.* |
Save/Done and comment buttons, Image Upload panel copy |
Step 5 — Image Upload translate icons and gear → Translations tab |
Calculator option labels, price summary fields, and generic system.* strings use the same All translations table as before. See Product Designer Translations for the full breakdown.
